OVERVIEW

The Sukin oil balancing mattifying facial moisturiser is a naturally derived moisturiser that helps to rebalance, restore and replenish your complexion.According the Sukin the formula is

“enriched with rice powder to mattify the face and prevent an oily base throughout the day. Pomegranate and quince to promote healthy, balanced skin, while a blend of Aloe Vera and chamomile calms and soothes while providing light hydration. This moisturiser with antioxidant-rich rooibos tea, Moringa and willowherb extracts encourages skin revitalisation and refreshes combination skin, leaving the skin feeling moisturised with a matte finish.”

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE

After using the moisturiser almost every day for the past 2 month, I would say that Sukin’s description is only partially accurate. It does make my skin feel well moisturised and healthy, and initially after application it does give my face a matte finish and helps to reduce shine throughout the day. However, for me I still get a bit of that greasy 3pm shine which this product is claimed to avoid. It’s rich formula is pretty gentle, but does clog my pores a bit causing the occasional spot. But that said, it is still a solid product, and despite this, it does work quite well and I would rather use this than a lot of other mainstream moisturisers. For the reasonable price point, you get a decent volume of product, which should last you longer than many other products, I do feel like it is good for my skin

SUITED FOR

Normal and clear skin

EASE OF USE

Very easy and convenient. The pump makes it easy to use in a hurry and I found its nourishing ingredients make it good for doubling a night cream.

AMOUNT OF PRODUCT USED PER APPLICATION

Normal. It’s rich formula spreads quite well so you don’t need to use a lot per application.

PRODUCT CONSISTENCY

Thin cream.

SCENT

It has a fair strong aroma for a face cream, with a leafy botanical fragrance. Despite it smelling very natural, for me personally, the scent is a bit too strong, it took a while to get used to. Although that’s just my personal opinion, some of my friends who have also used the product think it smells amazing.

PRODUCT STRENGTH

Medium – It uses rich and conditioning ingredients (like oils and plant extracts), which gives it quite a good moisturising affect. The rice powder helps to balance the oils to give a more non-oily matte gloss.

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE

It delivers fairly consistent and reliable performance for daily use when applied to clean skin. While it doesn’t always maintain a perfect matte finish, for something that actually feels quite moisturising it does help me to avoid some of the shine my skin would normally accumulate throughout the day. And the pump bottle and smooth consistency makes it really easy to apply on the go.

HEALTH BENEFITS

Unlike a lot of face creams which use chemicals to artificially make your skin feel good, it feels like Sukin has taken a more natural approach to use ingredients, like oils, which actually moisturises the skin. It leaves skin feeling good even after washing it off.

WOULD I BUY AGAIN?

Yes. I think for the value, you get good benefits. It might not be what I would use all the time, but for me it is kind of a convenient all-in-one product that I can use and trust when I’m in a hurry when I don’t want to use anything more complicated.
